Portuguese soprano Ana Caseiro is distinguished for her refined interpretations of contemporary and 20th‑century repertoire while maintaining an active presence in the classical and operatic tradition.


In 2026 she continues to affirm her artistic versatility, performing with the Casa da Música Choir and Cupertinos, making her debuts at Theatro Circo in Braga and Teatro Aveirense in Aveiro with Schoenberg’s Pierrot lunaire, as well as at the Festival Internacional de Música of Marvão (FIMM). Later that year, she returns to Vienna to perform the role of Mutter in Oscar Strasnoy’s a-capella opera Geschichte with Neue Oper Wien.


Recent highlights include two appearances with Cupertinos at London’s Wigmore Hall, a staged Pierrot lunaire with Ensemble ars ad hoc at the Festival Internacional de Música da Póvoa de Varzim, and collaborations with Klangforum Wien, notably the premieres of four new chamber works at the Out Hear New Music Week (Larissa, Greece). She has also sung in festivals such as New Opera Days Ostrava (Czech Republic) and the FIO - Festival Informal de Ópera (Portugal), bringing to life new operatic and multidisciplinary creations by composers including Petr Kotík, Luigi Nono, Fátima Fonte and João Caldas. She has also collaborated with the Opera of Graz premiering two operas by J. G. Alemany and S. Samanli.


Parallel to her contemporary work, Ana performs in the classical and operatic repertoire with roles such as Mimi in La Bohème (G. Puccini, Savaria Symphony Orchestra, Hungary 2022) and Branghien in Le vin herbé (F. Martin, Casa da Música, 2021). Her repertoire further includes Adina (L’elisir d’amore, G. Donizetti), Venus (Orphée  dans  l'enfer, J. Offenbach), Contessa (Le Nozze di Figaro, W. A. Mozart), and Lisette (La Rondine, G. Puccini). She has appeared in stagings by Olivier Tambosi, Ingo Kerkhof, Christoph Zauner, Carlos Wagner, Patricia Portela, and Lars Braun, and has worked under conductors Marc Piollet, Walter Kobéra, Léo Warynski, and Leonhard Garms, among others.


As an ensemble and chamber singer, Ana maintains a broad international activity. She has collaborated with Collegium Vocale Gent, the Chœur de la Radio France, and the Konzertvereinigung Wiener Staatsopernchor at the Salzburg Festival, as well as with Portuguese ensembles Cupertinos and the Casa da Música Choir, with which she performs regularly. She develops interdisciplinary creative projects with Caleidoscopio Coletivo and is a founding member of the vocal ensemble Capítulo and the contemporary ensemble Coincidence.


Ana Caseiro studied singing at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel with Dina Grossberger and Dinah Bryant, and at the Kunstuniversität Graz with Ulf Bästlein, where she obtained a Master’s degree in Voice. She also holds a Master’s in Performance Practice in Contemporary Music from the same university, under the guidance of Holger Falk and the ensemble Klangforum Wien.


She has participated in Lied programs such as the Udo Reinemann International Masterclasses (2015), Liedkunst im Schloss vor Husum (2016, with pianist  Pedro Costa), and Leeds Lieder Young Artists (2020, with pianist Sabina Švigelj). Her artistic development has been shaped by work with figures such as Sarah Maria Sun, Sarah Wegener, Angelika Luz, Anne‑Sofie von Otter, Julius Drake, Roderick Williams, Marianne Pousseur, Christianne Stotijn, Eildert Beeftink, Valérie Guillorrit, Joseph Breinl, Charles Spencer, Marie‑Claude Solanet, Dorian Astor, Markus Hadulla, Carmelo Corrado Caruso, Luís Rendas Pereira, and Cecília Fontes.


A grant holder of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (2021–2023) and the GDA Foundation (2018), Ana Caseiro also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto.
